Design and Development of Compression Algorithms for Scientific Simulation Data

Scientific discoveries are dependent on storage and analysis of large-scale scientific simulation data. However, storage of large scientific data for analysis is a challenging task. The requirements on disk space, input/output (I/O) and data transfer bandwidth are excessively high due to the large volume of generated data. 

This thesis addresses these issues and the goal is to extend and propose a new compression algorithm for scientific simulation data.



-         Good Knowledge of MATLAB

-         Good Knowledge of C or C++

-         Basic Knowledge of Compression Algorithms is an advantage
